The Company Christmas Party (Part 5 of 5)

After Santa came and went, it was back for more hot chocolate, cookies, and chili. Then I headed back outside for a little more sleigh riding before it was time to go home. My dad usually gave me a ride on a snowmobile, too.
It seemed he stayed out the whole time giving rides to people on snowmobiles, since KSL owned some old Skidoos. They were really used to get to translator stations in snowy weather when a truck couldn’t get through, but they came in handy at Christmas parties also. A few weeks before the party, my dad would bring them home and work them over, getting them running well and everything. He would often give neighbors a ride up and down our snow packed street. Once he even gave my grandma a ride. Boy, did she ever hang on!
Anyway, soon it was time to go back home. We always went home in the jeep that my dad had pulled the Skidoos up the canyon with. We rode home with the sky darkening. I was a little depressed to think that Christmas had come and gone for another year. Yet it made me happy to think of all the fun we had had, and also that there would be more Christmas parties next year.
